This position exists to provide administrative and technical support to operation Majors, Headquarters Business Manager, and the forfeiture program of the Minnesota State Patrol. The forfeiture and administrative coordinator perform administrative and technical duties for the forfeiture program and office duties enabling the upper levels of State Patrol Management to function effectively. The purpose of this classification is to perform administrative and technical functions which include, but are not limited to, ensuring adequate information is communicated to district forfeiture coordinators, serving as agency expert regarding forfeiture policy and best practices, reviewing closed forfeiture files to prepare for data submission, provide customer service by answering questions and providing appropriate information, reconciling VISA logs, managing mail, maintain and/or creating of files, operate general office equipment, order and/or maintain office supplies. This position serves as backup for deposits and ODMAP. This position plays a key role in the day-to-day functioning of State Patrol Headquarters and all its personnel. **Minimum Qualifications** Two (2) years of experience that supports an area of specialized knowledge or provides administrative support, paraprofessional, or advanced technical experience. An associates degree may substitute for six months of experience or a bachelors degree may substitute for 12 months of service. Experience should include the following: + Ability to multitask, organize, prioritize work, and meet demands of workload with interruptions. + Communication skills in writing, speaking, reading sufficient to compose correspondence with accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation, and to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. + Customer service skills sufficient to answer phone calls, respond to emails, welcome guests into the building. Will need to provide accurate and timely responses to internal and external customers. + Data entry skills sufficient enough to update files in an accurate and timely manner. + English skills sufficient to prepare well written correspondence and reports, and to communicate clearly and diplomatically with all levels of management, staff, and customers to resolve issues appropriately. + Math skills sufficient to compute totals, averages, and percentages of numerical data to check or reconcile data. + Knowledge of standard computer software program for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases sufficient to create, modify and protect, save documents and information. + Typing and word processing skills sufficient to complete advanced administrative tasks and ensure documents and records are complete, accurate and current. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience interpreting and explaining complex statutes, laws, policies and procedures. + Knowledge of state government and policies; particularly as it pertains to forfeiture laws. + Experience processing forfeiture related claims, including identifying and solving problems with varied degree of complexity. + Working knowledge and experience in the State of Minnesota's Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) system and SWIFT Data Warehouse. + Knowledge of the MSP's organization structure, policies and procedures, mission and goals, legislative process, program budgets, as well as laws and regulations governing department functions and personnel. + Experience with advanced MS Excel tools to create databases and for data analysis. **Physical Requirements** Very Light: Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools.
