The Laboratory Technologist analyzes blood and body fluids as a diagnostic aid for physicians by producing accurate and precise test results. This position also has the responsibility of training students and new employees. The technologist must be able to accurately enter test results into the LIS and communicate effectively throughout the hospital.

PREFERRED: Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science
MT, MLS, or CLS (ASCP or AMT) certification, or certification eligible.
PREFERRED: Have at least 1 year of laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing within the specialty of microbiology OR with a minimum of 6-month experience in high complexity testing within the subspecialty of bacteriology.

Responsibilities:

Perform moderate and high complexity testing.
Operates multiple state-of-the-art instruments. Performing equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Evaluate and interpret quality control and testing results.
Strictly adhere to safety procedures
Requires the ability to lift and move boxes of supplies.
Work requires extended periods of standing and walking.
Work involves exposure to bio-hazardous materials, chemicals, and potential infectious diseases.
