eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 1, Software Engineer in New York, NY

Job Duties: Develop commerce by building new features for existing applications, creating new platforms, and solving complex problems at a massive scale. Develop innovative software solutions and high-quality products that impact millions of customers. Periodically test newly implemented software for performance issues. Identify and resolve complex technical problems in the world of connected commerce. Analyze eBay’s software products and services in order to push technology forward with respect to functionality, performance, reliability, and scalability. Work in a wide range of areas including development, design, search, platform, test, quality, big data, front end, and back end. Estimate engineering efforts, prioritize projects, plan implementations, and triage production issues. Build new experiences, improve existing products, and develop distributed systems powering the world’s largest e-commerce and payments website. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1.    Experience designing and developing large-scale software applications using Object-Oriented Design and Java (2 years). 
2.    Experience developing e-commerce sites using J2EE-related technology (2 years).
3.    Experience developing large-scale APIs using XML (2 years).
4.    Experience accessing RDBMS using SQL (2 years).
5.    Experience creating dynamic websites using Javascript and HTML (2 years).
6.    Experience developing software applications on Linux-based systems (2 years).

Salary: $151,819.00-205,700.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
