eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 1, Software Engineer in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Design, develop, and maintain eBay’s identity and access management solutions (IDAM) that provide users with unique login credentials and access permissions to systems and resources. Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other team members to translate business requirements into technical specifications and integrate eBay’s software efficiently and securely within complex systems. Drive innovation and maintain the highest level of security to safeguard eBay’s clients’; sensitive data. Participate in operational support activities, including on-call and on-demand network and server support. Develop automated tests and deliver high-quality software code to production within a short development cycle in the continuous integration and delivery environment. Identify defects but also narrow them down to the root cause, to optimally narrow down defects and lead test design and test systems architecture discussions. Support the design, development, and implementation of Identity and Access Management (IDAM) solutions, adhering to best practices and industry standards. Engineer scalable and efficient IDAM solutions, considering performance, security, and usability aspects. Participate in on-call/on-demand network and server support. Document internal processes, product architecture, and run books. Lead and estimate engineering effort, plan implementations, and rollout for applications integrating with cross-functional components. Telecommuting permitted - work may be performed from anywhere in the U.S.

Minimum Requirements: Maste’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or a related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Will also accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent,  in Computer Science or a related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements

1.    Deploying, operating and maintaining Keycloak IAM (1 year)
2.    Demonstrated ability to work as the sole operational-minded member of a cross-functional team, tasked with upholding multiple non-functional requirements (2 years)
3.    AWS expertise with EC2, auto scaling, and security; strong network engineering experience, including software defined storage and network architectures
4.    Modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and serverless architectures, tools and processes, including Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
5.    Implementing CI/CD automation including automated smoke and integration tests using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or similar systems
6.    Identity and Access Management platforms (2 years)
7.    Java experience and demonstrated proficiency along with at least one additional programming language like (Go, C#, Python) (3 years)
8.    authentication and authorization mechanisms, including SSO, MFA, and RBAC
9.    Design patterns, including service oriented architecture, circuit breaker

Salary: $172,931.00-$234,850.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
