Now eBay is seeking a skilled and passionate software engineer to join our Developer Ecosystem (DECO) team which manages the eBay public API portfolio that enables partners to create new magical experiences in our marketplace. eBay APIs offer eBay developers the power to create a wide variety of solutions to meet the diverse needs of the millions of buyers and sellers on eBay. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining a robust portfolio to support eBay’s API first strategy. The candidate will work with a global team of engineers, product managers, architects, and analysts to elevate the platform of global commerce through a best-in-class API portfolio and a world-class developer experience. They will be part of a newly setup team at eBay Shanghai, where they will have significant influence and opportunities for growth with extended scope and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, resilient and performant distributed systems.
Ensure consistency and quality through code reviews, unit testing, and adherence to best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement solutions aligned with the business goals.
Engage and collaborate with internal and third-party developers to improve their solution and accelerate the adoption of API best practices, promoting seamless integration with eBay and driving more business outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
Major in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum of 3 -5 years of experience in software development.
Proven solid experience in software development using Java, Spring, with a strong understanding of REST and GraphQL API design principles.
Solid coding experience and skills. Hands-on micro service architecture experiences.
Familiarity with API testing tools and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems independently.
Self driven, can-do attitude and aggressive to achieve the goals.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a global team environment.
Strong ability to understand and articulate both technical and business issues with peers, management, and external teams.
Customer first attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
Solid experience in messaging/streaming applications (Kafka) and popular DBs.
Experience on Cloud platforms (Docker/K8s).
Experience with AliExpress/Amazon developer ecosystem and public API is a plus
Knowledge of API catalogs and metadata management systems
Understanding of generative AI concepts and techniques is a plus
