Responsibilities:
Be part of a team of super-smart engineers building next generation geo-distributed database platforms running on thousands of machines across continents with 99.95% availability and strong consistency.
As a database kernel developer, need to design and implement key database features using novel technologies with focuses on scalability, performance, geo-distribution, and availability.
Solve challenging technical problems both individually and cooperatively with the team.
Passion to bring out innovative ideas and try out new solutions, while being open minded to feedback from the team.
Passion to build the next generation database platform which will be the foundation for all eBay’s applications serving billions of people every day around the globe.

Responsible and relentless focus on quality.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
Self-directed work style with minimum supervision.

Expert level programming (C++) are required with demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.

Experience on Rust development is a plus.

Experience in system programming, such as Database, Operating System, is preferred.
Experience in massively distributed systems is preferred.
Experience in Database kernel development is preferred.

Experience on PostgreSQL kernel development is a big plus.

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English is preferred.
