General Summary:

The Multi Audio Senior Guarantee is responsible for overseeing the seamless audio delivery of live broadcast events produced from WBD Sport Studio facilities in West London. This includes managing studios, galleries, sound control rooms, commentary booths, and multi-function rooms, which operate 365 days a year.

As a key on-site contact for the Sound Manager, the Multi Audio Senior Guarantee is responsible for the seamless audio delivery of live broadcasts from WBD Sport Studio facilities in West London. This includes planning, setup, monitoring, and delivery of live productions, as well as supporting a team of guarantees across two sites.

The Multi Audio Senior Guarantee will also manage a team of Sound Operators, acting as their primary technical contact. They will collaborate with the team to ensure clear understanding of technical requirements and foster a strong team dynamic.

They will create standard operating procedures to ensure clarity and consistency across teams. Also collaborate with the Sound Operator team to streamline technical workflows, minimize troubleshooting, and plan proactive solutions. Additionally, they will report back to the Sound Operations manager, detailing any service interruptions on platforms.

The role is shift-based, covering a range of disciplines including studio shows, cloud production, and gallery-only events. The role will involve working on various sports, such as Champions League football, Grand Slam Tennis, Motorsports, Cycling Grand Tours, and the Olympic Games. Occasional international travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Oversight: Oversee the setup and delivery of critical audio infrastructure, including Riedel comms, Bolero packs, and live audio outputs for assigned productions.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of sound operators, providing guidance, training, and support. Serve as a primary point of contact for the team, addressing technical needs and resolving issues.

Workflow Optimization: Collaborate with key stakeholders to streamline workflows, implement technical updates, and provide operational feedback.

Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous testing and troubleshooting to ensure seamless audio delivery and resolve technical issues promptly.

Technical Expertise: Stay current with industry trends, provide technical guidance, and support system development.

Team Contribution: Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities:

Client Liaison: Liaise with clients to gather technical requirements and create clear workflows for sound operators.

Process Improvement: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency across teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other GT&O organizations (MAM, Ingest, Engineering, MCR, Programming, OAP, Preview Team, and Transmission) to maintain strong working relationships and effective communication.

Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor Linear and Digital platforms for service interruptions and report back to the Sound Operations Manager promptly.

Professional Development: Stay up to date on industry best practices and emerging technologies relating to broadcast operations.

Health and Safety: Prioritize safety and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Required Skills and Experience:

Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of audio production processes, including audio routing, tagging, Riedel talkback, BNCS, and Lawo desks.

Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address technical challenges and ensure smooth operations.

Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and production partners, understanding their specific needs and delivering exceptional results.

Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.

Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure high-quality audio delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven track record in broadcast audio.

Technical Expertise: Experience in operating Lawo desks, Riedel talkback, and Atos BNSC Network Control Systems.

Passion for Audio: A genuine passion for audio and a strong understanding of audio production workflows.
