This is an exempt level position.
**Job Summary:**
This position is responsible for multi-department overseeing and leading of all aspects of the day-to-day operations for their assigned shift. Multi-department is defined as, but not limited to, Alcohol Loadout & Process, Syrup Refinery Loadout, Feedhouse Loadout, and Sorbitol Process. This position also requires coverage for the Shift General Foreman, Refinery Supervisor, Feedhouse Supervisor, and/or Mill Supervisor if/when the need arises. The Shift Supervisor will lead all aspects of employees who operate and tend control stations or areas in an automated or semi-automated processing operation. This position may initiate and communicate a variety of personnel actions such as performance, scheduling, and/or approving overtime. The facility processes corn into value added products and includes approximately 650 ADM and contractor colleagues.
**Essential Job Functions:**
+ Focused on personnel safety, quality, and product safety
+ Lead plant operations to maintain personnel and process safety
+ Manage plant operations to ensure in spec final product quality
+ Estimate personnel needs
+ Assign work and establish expectations for completion
+ Provide training and development for direct staff
+ Interpret and ensure consistent application of organizational policies

+ Oversee completion of GMP Audit and Sanitation items throughout the facility.
+ Ability to look beyond the task at hand, to anticipate challenges and develop options to overcome them
+ Knowledge of a variety of process unit operations
+ Ability to work a rotating shift including nights, weekends, and holidays
+ Basic understanding of continuous improvement tools & concepts to help capture opportunities, correct the issue, & sustain the gains.
**Education/Training:**
+ 1 to 3 years of experience in a food processing production environment or similar industry
+ Direct supervision of people is preferred (in a union environment is a plus)
+ Emergency response training or experience is preferred

+ The scope of the position requires exposure to and use of chemicals, solvents, and cleaners that may be hazardous and/or cause injury if specific instructions regarding their mixture, use, and disposal/storage are not properly followed
+ Inside areas, Spring / Summer: Temperatures in some areas of the facility will be up to or exceed 100 degrees
+ Fall / Winter: Temperatures in the facility may be at or below freezing.
+ Outside areas, Spring / Summer: Outside temperature may be up to or exceed 100 degrees with potential for high humidity. May be exposed to inclement weather conditions including, but not limited to, rain and wind.
+ Fall / Winter: Outside temperatures may reach freezing or below. May be exposed to inclement weather including, freezing rain, sleet, snow, and wind.
+ Some manufacturing processes within the facility are highly reliant on machinery and other processing equipment and, as a result, noise levels may reach or exceed 85 decibels and require use of hearing protection for most of the work shift.
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Able to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis, up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis and up to 55 pounds overhead
+ Lifting or carrying of weights over 50 pounds is rare. Employees are encouraged to request assistance in lifting or carrying objects that weigh more than 50 pounds
+ Able to traverse up to two (2) miles during a workday
+ Able to move about or to a work site by stooping, bending, kneeling, or squatting frequently during a workday. May require periods of prolonged sitting or standing
+ Able to operate equipment or diagnose / detect issues of machinery that may be located at different heights. May require work on ladders, scaffolding or other work at heights
+ Occasional work is required in and around confined spaces
+ Requires a full range of physical motion to operate manual and electrically powered tools and test equipment, to move throughout the facility, including climbing stairs in all buildings, and to work at heights

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
