Pay Range: $38.09 Per Hour – Paid Bi-Weekly
This position requires flexibility within shift patterns and be able to work holidays and days when planned maintenance occurs during factory shutdowns. Must be able to work any day of the week and be able to adapt to schedule changes to align with business needs.

Background & Purpose of the Job
The Multi-skilled Technician is a Preventative Maintenance and Focused Improvement specialist engaged to optimize the running and maintenance of equipment within the factory. Where breakdowns occur, the multi-skilled technician will act to diagnose and troubleshoot failures, look for root causes, and where necessary will recommend design improvements. This person will be responsible for setting the Maintenance Strategy for the respective production area.
The Technician is professionally competent and qualified to operate safely with a working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and industrial controls. She/he must be mentally agile and a problem solver. They are to be actively engaged in maintaining a safe work environment, which increases production efficiency, protects product quality, and reduces waste. A teammate that will be an active participant on the line technical team, help drive performance improvements, waste reduction projects, and cost savings opportunities.
What You’ll Need to Succeed - Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Mechanical Skills-must have the knowledge and technical skills to ensure effective support to the production line technical team, focused on delivering performance targets, and contributing to improved safety, quality, sustainability, and cost.
Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Plan – Yearly, Monthly, Weekly Planning
Understanding of Mechanisms and Mechanical Motion
Spare Parts Planning
Electrical Skills-
Remove and replace electrical components (such as motors, switches/drives)
Troubleshoot electrical circuits safely.
Understand and Troubleshoot distribution systems and electrical control circuits.
Understand electrical drive systems and control Loops.
Instrumentation and Control Skills
Demonstrate an understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and their software. (Allen Bradly or other)
Amend control and software documentation.
Ability to learn and understand factories' networks, servers, and firewalls.
A technical mindset that can learn and adapt to change.
Ability to understand controls and software for secondary support equipment such as vision systems. (Example: Cognex DataMan Cameras)
Safety-Utilize all appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products & equipment to ensure a safe working environment for the whole team. Ability to become certified in Hazmat and First Aid.
Environment-Reduce costs due to waste and minimize impact to health, safety, and the environment.
Quality-Ensure that all aspects of Quality within the area of responsibility are in accordance with local Quality procedures to protect and promote the brands and our products.
Leadership-Promote the development of a highly effective team through strong communication, leading by example while keeping focused on goals and targets achieving superior performance.
Continuous Improvement-Use performance measures to identify and prioritize losses in assigned area(s). Develop and implement cost savings projects to reduce/eliminate losses utilizing UMS. (UMS – Unilever Manufacturing Systems)
Problem Solving-Has the ability to identify, troubleshoot, prioritize, and address problems using appropriate tools, resources, and techniques that eliminate recurrence.
Project Management-Achieve the desired outcomes assigned projects using appropriate project management tools and techniques to ensure the efficient use of technical, financial & human resources.
REQUIREMENTS:
Associate degree and/or Technical Certificate
Experience in support report writing, data analysis, problem solving, mechanical calculations, leadership, and coaching skills.
Experience of working as part of an extended team within the manufacturing sector.
PREFERRED / DESIRABLE:
Experience of manufacturing in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Company
Experience as a team member within a project Management team with an awareness of project management tools and technique.
Two years manufacturing, mechanical or technical experience
Knowledge of structured text programming platforms
Knowledge of robotics and their control systems.
