Innovation Labs as part of Process Automation LoB is looking for passionate and creative individuals who can help creating breakthrough solutions for our customers. We need a Process Engineer who can enable digital transformation in the process industry. The role requires to work with a cross functional team to define and design the future control system for the process industry. Overall experience of 12 - 15 years is desired.
What will you do?
· Demonstrate a solid understanding of unit operations (e.g., Distillation, Solvent Extraction) and chemical reactions (e.g., Reaction Engineering, Mixing) relevant to process optimization.
· Identify and analyze complex industrial challenges to create relevant use cases for process improvement.
· Collaborate with customers, partners, suppliers, startups, and academic institutions for solving the short-term and long-term business problems in various segments such as Paints & Coatings, Chemicals, Green Hydrogen, Metals, Desalination etc. to pinpoint and address specific industry challenges.
· Analyze process data, including Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), control strategies, and operational tag data, to assess potential benefits and inform decision-making.
· Develop clear and actionable requirements based on identified industrial challenges to guide product development.
· Assess the desirability, feasibility, and viability of proposed solutions through rigorous Proof of Concept (POC) testing.
· Identify opportunities for process efficiency improvements, cost optimization, improved quality, and sustainability initiatives within existing operations.
What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
· Very good understanding of the industrial automation industry (EPCs, product OEMs, End customers) especially in the process domain industries such as Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Plastics, Metals & Mining etc.
· Good understanding of process control and strategies.
· Field experience working with industrial field devices, instrumentation, and actuators.
· Good safety and compliance knowledge. Familiarity with industry regulations, safety, and environmental standards.
· Experience in the field of Dynamic Simulation, specifically Dynamic Simulation of Chemical processes.
· Hands on experience with industry-standard software tools for simulation, modeling, and data analysis.
· Working knowledge of Process Optimization methodologies
· Ability to solve complex Chemical and/or Controls Engineering problems.
· Ability to design and develop control logic for process automation and optimization use cases.
· Familiar with industry communication protocols and control layers.
· Ability to take complete ownership of Proof of concepts, Pilot or Solution development, deployment, and post deployment support until completion of the defined milestones.
· Result oriented approach and absolute focus on business needs and requirements.
· Ability to handle multiple competing priorities, tasks and demands.
· Have a sense of urgency and drive issues to closure; persist despite obstacles and opposition.
