Multifamily Designer - Trusses

Job Summary

The Multifamily Designer is responsible for the accurate design of roof/floor trusses and components for multi-family and commercial projects, and other industrial engineered products. Works under general direction of the Design Manager or GMO; exercises discretion and judgment on work priority on a regular basis.

Location: must reside in the United States

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Designs metal plate-connected wood trusses and wall panels utilizing adequate softwareOptimizes designs for maximum efficiencyReviews orders, layouts, and data files for accuracyAssists sales and production with design service and troubleshootingEnsures efficient resource utilization and initiates corrective action as requiredPrepares various reports as requiredPerforms other duties as required

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline or equivalent experience is requiredMinimum 7+ years of experience in related field/responsibilitiesWorking knowledge and experience using MiTek software is preferredWorking knowledge of floor and roof systems and the ability to spec out beams and hangersWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
