Posting Number: 20254287S Position Title: Multimedia Experience Coordinator Position Type: Staff Location: Villanova, PA Recruitment Type: Internal/External Applicants Work Schedule: full-time/12-months Avg Hours Week Department: 981 - Internal Online Prog Mgmt Position Summary: The Multimedia Experience Coordinator will work cross collaboratively with the Multimedia Experience Designer, Instructional Designers, Learning Experience Designers and the Course Coordinator in the Office of Online Programs (OOP) to ensure high quality media is successfully developed for and implemented in online courses. More specifically, the Multimedia Experience Coordinator will work with the Multimedia Experience Designer to determine the unique media needs for each course, identify the required resources (personnel, technology, etc.) to create the requested media and then develop that media within a specified time period. Requested media could include but is not limited to video recordings, podcasts, graphics and PowerPoints. This process will require partnership with subject matter experts from all six colleges who create the course content as well as Learning Experience designers from the OOP who work in partnership with them during the course development process. The Multimedia Experience Coordinator will also work closely with the University Technology Department (UNIT), which manages a centrally hosted video recording application and recording studios across campus.

The Multimedia Experience Coordinator is also responsible for staying abreast of new media technologies and related innovative applications that can enhance the options which can be offered to faculty.

As a valued unit within the Office of the Provost and larger Villanova community, the Office of Online Programs (OOP) embraces an intentionally designed hybrid work schedule with the opportunity to work remotely up to two days a week. Duties and Responsibilities: Media Preparation and Organization Assists with editing course media as requested by various stakeholders which may include upfront dialogue on requested changes, recommending/selecting other possible options and ultimately selecting the optimal solution. Assists with the collection and organization of media and the requisite documentation and placement within courses. Helps prepare faculty developers as needed for in-studio or at-home recording. Assists Multimedia Experience Designer in working with UNIT on scheduling studio time as needed.

Quality Assurance Ensures all media produced is operational, professional looking and purposeful. Checks that all transcripts are correct, uploaded, accessible and ready to be placed in the Learning Management System (LMS).
Content Creation Designs PowerPoints, visuals and static graphics as requested by course developers using Canva or another software.
Industry Research Researches, tests and stays abreast of new multimedia technologies (in partnership with the UNIT department as appropriate) that can enhance the course development capabilities.
Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Formal Education Bachelor’s degree required.


Minimum Work Experience At least one year of demonstrated full or part-time experience working in a multimedia related role. Prior experience working in higher education is a plus.
Minimum Work Skills Strong organizational skills. Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills. Strong collaborative skills and experience working in a team. Ability to adapt to new software. Detail oriented. Experience managing complex projects with limited resources. Adept at prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a very fast-moving organizational environment. Experience working with multiple stakeholders.
Specific Job Knowledge Working knowledge of lecture capture systems (i.e. Mediasite) and other media systems in an enterprise environment. Knowledge of software and hardware used in technology-based instruction (i.e. Blackboard, Desire2Learn, Articulate, Canvas, Zoom, etc). Ability to create high quality graphics or visuals for PowerPoint Experience and strong skills in troubleshooting. Superior design skills and creative/innovative mindset.

Flexible schedule which accommodates evening hours may occasionally be necessary to meet with course developers. In such instances, standard working hours would be adjusted as needed. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledgeable about importance of multimedia in the online learning space. Experience in project management Understanding of course pedagogy and universal design for learning (UDL). Knowledge of accessibility, WCAG 2.2.
