Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Reporting news stories for broadcast and digital platforms, including the wfxrtv.com website and various social media sitesWorking in concert with managers, producers and other colleagues to meet critical standards for accuracy, journalistic integrity, grammar and quality writingResearching, analyzing and vetting background information related to news stories to be able to provide complete and accurate informationGathering information about events through research, interviews, experience or attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social or other functionsShooting, editing and present news stories for broadcast and digital platformsInteracting with viewers at news events as well as station-sponsored community eventsOther duties as assigned Requirements & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experienceFluency in EnglishExcellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when requiredOn-air experience in news reporting strongly preferredSuperior on-air presenceAbility and willingness to work varying shifts, including overnights, weekends and holidaysFamiliarity with required equipment and systems strongly preferred, including broadcast camera and related gear, Adobe Premiere, ENPS and WordpressProficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipmentAbility to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyValid driver’s license with a good driving record Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations if needed
