Job Summary/Description:

KWTX, the dominant CBS station in Central Texas, is seeking an experienced MMJ to reside in Bell County and report stories in Belton, Temple, Killeen and other communities in the southern region of our market. The successful candidate generates their own story ideas and has a strong track record of enterprise reporting and covering live, breaking news as an MMJ. We're seeking a leader who can shoot, write, edit, and tell great stories in a news-rich area of the market. You will be equipped with all the necessary gear to work remotely and have full access to our southern-based studio and newsroom.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not be limited to):

- Generate engaging enterprise content for on-air and online reports
- Report live in field and in the studio as a multi-media journalist
- Plan, schedule, shoot, write, edit, and present news content on-air and on digital platforms
- Collaborate with news team and news managers to determine daily themes and content
- Create social media and website posts
- Record and edit segments for broadcast
- Availability to work weekends and some holidays

Qualifications/Requirements:

-Reside in Bell County, TX with quick access to communities along the I-35 corridor
-Ability to generate and tell unique enterprise stories relevant to our Central Texas audience
-Strong news judgment with competence to perform the job with little supervision
-Ability to present clear and concise on-air content in scripted and non-scripted events
-Planning skills that keep you always seeking the next big topic
-Creative thinker with a desire to present information in new formats and with engaging visuals
-Excellent writing, shooting, and editing skills
-Ability to transport ENG gear for on-location shoots and live shots
-Ability to multitask and be calm and decisive under pressure
-Valid driver's license and clean driving record
-Bachelors degree in journalism or related field or equivalent training and/or experience
