Job Summary/Description:

Responsible for achieving the station’s overall local sales budgets by managing and coaching a team of local account executives. The Multimedia Sales Manager will be a catalyst for new opportunities that will secure revenue for the station and offer customer-focused solutions to the advertisers.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Achieve local revenue goals
• Recruit, train, and supervise local account executives
• Build and maintain client relationships; develop and grow key accounts
• Assist the Director of Sales in managing inventory, research, personnel, and rates
• Assist account executives with sales tools and research products
• Develop packages and sponsorships as needed
• Coach and train local and digital account executives for best practices of the sales process with media and other digital media platforms
• Remain current with market conditions
• Develop strategies with the Director of Sales for expectations in goal-setting
• Establish strategic plans for local/digital sales goals
• Develop and implement plans, creative management, marketing techniques, and new products to generate new revenue opportunities
• Develop and maintain accountabilities to ensure department goals are met
• Provide management with necessary sales reports, revenue, and expense budgets, market analysis, etc.
• Develop and manage systems for evaluating performance levels in local account executives
• Develop new revenue streams
• Assist in resolving billing discrepancies
• Assist in the collection of past-due accounts
• Approve and clear orders
• Build presentations, creative commercial ideas, master avails, and support documents for team members
• Help manage inventory
• Make sales calls with account executives
• Insure that account executives resolve make-goods timely
• Evaluate customer service concerns on a daily basis
• Actively participate in weekly creative meetings to help grow business in sales, digital, and contesting
• Perform other job-related duties as requested

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Business or a related degree is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in sales or media background. Supervisory experience preferred
• Minimum of five years of sales/management experience required
• Local and national broadcast sales background preferred
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Must have a keen ability to negotiate business
• Strong understanding of broadcast television sales on-air and online
• Able to execute sales initiatives
• Able to manage transactional sales activity for multiple products
• Advanced level knowledge of inventory management, and marketing research
• Overall knowledge of Nielsen ratings and methodology is essential
• Wide Orbit, Microsoft Excel, and Marketron experience is preferred.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships and trust with clients
• Able to lead and motivate a team of account executives
• Ability to coach and train account executives; evaluate performance levels
• Ability to set strategic direction both internally and externally
• Must be able to give public presentations
• Must be a good listener
• Advanced knowledge of the current station programming schedule
• Ability to remain current with market conditions and competition
• Ability to lead local account executives and digital account executives in achieving sales goals
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
• Ability to quickly, accurately, and calmly handle the decision-making process
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Ability to remain positive and foster a positive work environment
