ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s growing Raleigh, NC team is looking for a multimodal transportation planner or engineer to join us as a Transportation Project Manager. As a member of the VHB NC Planning and Project Development Team, the selected candidate will lead the development of multimodal transportation plans and projects. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of transportation planning principles, multimodal design practices, and project oversight experience. The candidate will primarily work with the Raleigh, NC VHB office, but will support work across the state and region.

 

Responsibilities

Work with an interdisciplinary team to conduct public engagement and develop solutions for all modes of transportation. Oversee other planners and engineers in the development of reports, presentations and other deliverables. Apply deep understanding of multimodal planning and analysis to transportation design and systems. Mentor junior team members in transportation planning principles and project development. Document and communicate findings from expert field observations with clients and public stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelors in Planning, Public Policy, Civil Engineering, Public Health or related fieldMasters degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, Public Policy, Public Health or related field is preferred, but not required5-8+ years of experience in transportation planning or engineering 8-11+ years of experience in transportation planning or engineering preferredPE licensure or AICP certification is preferred
