Graduate Assistant for Student-Athlete Success & Support
The position Graduate Assistant for Student-Athlete Success & Support is responsible for directly assisting the Director of Student-Athlete Success and Support with the monitoring and evaluation of the academic performance of all student-athletes at Western Illinois University. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to; successfully mentor academically at-risk athletes, monitor and evaluate academic eligibility and satisfactory progress of student-athletes, supervise study hall hours, help with setting up tutoring appointments and other duties as assigned including help at home sporting events. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours.
Graduate assistant positions include a monthly stipend plus tuition (employment is contingent upon proof of admission to the Graduate School). Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications
The position of Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications is responsible for directly assisting the Associate Athletic Director for External Relations with the promotion/publicity of all Western Illinois University student-athletes and coaches. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to; planning and implementing communications strategies for assigned sports, in-game activities with statistics, updating stats for website publishing, writing press releases, updating game notes, game programs, updating the department website, submitting honors for conference and national recognition, and other duties as assigned. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours.
