Position Purpose:
At Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital, The Joyce D. and Andrew J. Mandell Center for Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis Care and Neuroscience Research is a comprehensive care center dedicated to the treatment and education of those affected by MS. The comprehensive setting of our center is unique and growing, and includes a team of clinical partners in the areas of neurology, physiatry, research, urology, neuropsychiatry, and rehabilitative therapy.
What you will do:
Educating and offering emotional support/counseling to patients and their families about MS, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications to manage and support patients and symptoms.
Administration and monitoring of medications, infusions, and injections while calculating and documenting dosages, adjustments, protocols, and patients’ vitals during treatments.
Collaborates with colleagues, physicians, healthcare team members, and the patient and family to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care delivery
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred.
Registered Nurse RN Licensure: Valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure is required.
Experience: 3 or more years of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) care experience is required. Proficiency with IV Infusion medications and Ambulatory Infusion site experience is preferred.
BLS or CPR certification: Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross will be accepted.
Certification in IV Therapy is preferred.
Position Highlights and Benefits:
Part-Time – Per Diem - Rotating Shifts.
The clinic is open Monday thru Friday, no weekends or holidays.
Sites of service include off-site locations.
