An Emergency Department Unit Secretary is a role with many facets that as part of the healthcare team will assists in the planning, organization, and implementation of the activities occurring at the nursing stations by performing clerical duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area.

 

An Emergency Department Technician is a role that functions as part of the healthcare team. The ED tech will assist in ED flow and patient care under direction of the ED physician or nurse. Some of the skills performed may include:

Obtaining EKGsObtain vital signsTransport of patientsCollection and transportation of lab specimens (with competency)

 

A Emergency Department Patient Access Clerk is a highly specialized health care team member who has the ability to be flexible and cope with high levels of stress while proficient accuracy and teamwork and can promote a positive team spirit while maintaining excellent standards according to Marshall Medical Center North’s goals. Some of the many skills performed:

Computer skills, fax machine, scanners Telephone skillsCustomer service skillsCredit card machine, copy machineUpfront Collections and depositsAccureg corrections

EDUCATION:

                       High School Graduate or Equivalent preferred

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
