Job Description
We are seeking a junior-level Civil Engineer to join our Waterford office. You will be performing engineering, construction, and design assignments on various municipal projects in the Metro Detroit area. This role involves soil and concrete observation and testing, documentation and reporting of construction activities, and performing analyses and design for projects.
ResponsibilitiesPerform engineering, construction, and design assignments on municipal projects.Conduct soil and/or concrete observation and testing of water, sewer mains, and manholes.Document and report all construction project activities.Perform analyses and design required on the projects.Prepare sketches and diagrams for field technicians, and review and check drawings and layouts.Assist in the preparation of contract/proposal specifications and construction cost estimates.Review subcontractor shop drawing submittals.Monitor construction and coordinate field activities.Assist in transportation engineering within the municipal project sector (roads, drives, etc.).Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.1-5 years of civil engineering experience, ideally within the Municipal or Transportation sector (internships count).Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Microstation, and/or Civil 3D).Additional Skills & QualificationsEngineer in Training (EIT) certification.Experience with soil and/or concrete testing.Experience with ArcView or ArcMap.Experience in the design of water and sewer utilities.Work Environment
Work hours are from 8am to 5pm. Our office culture is strong, encouraging collaboration and celebrations among small teams. While we prefer having team members in the office for most of the week, we offer flexibility for the right candidate who does not need extensive training, allowing for 1-2 days of remote work or job site visits. Our Waterford office consists of 31 people.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00
