We are seeking a Municipal & Water Resources Construction Inspector I (RPR I) to ensure that construction projects meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and safety.


As a Municipal & Water Resources Construction Inspector I (RPR I), you will serve as the primary on-site representative, overseeing construction activities and inspecting developer-installed improvements for land development and subdivision projects. Your expertise will ensure that projects align with approved plans, specifications, and municipal requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight: Review project schedules, shop drawing submittals, and schedules of values, ensuring compliance with engineering requirementsMeeting Participation: Attend pre-construction and progress meetings, document key discussions, and circulate comprehensive meeting minutesLiaison Role: Act as the engineer’s liaison with contractors, assisting in contract document interpretationConstruction Observation: Conduct on-site observations of work progress, verifying compliance with plans and specificationsDocumentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed project documentation, including diaries/logs, correspondence, shop drawings, and contractor recordsReport any unsatisfactory, faulty, or defective work to the project engineerTesting and Inspections: Assist in testing, inspections, and start-up activities, ensuring proper documentation and executionPlan Reviews: Review plans for compliance with municipal requirements and prepare improvement guarantee cost estimatesGuarantee Evaluations: Inspect developer-installed improvements and prepare detailed inspection reports completenessGuarantee Requests: Evaluate improvement guarantee reduction requests Requirements

 

High school diploma or GED required2+ years of project experience in construction observation and administrationKnowledge of stormwater systems, site grading, paving, and highway projectsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, ExcelACI certification is desired but not mandatoryAbility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other office locations as required (Valid U.S. driver’s license is required)Legal authorization to work in the U.S
