Job Description
Applies advanced muzzle exit support skills in support of electronic triggering activities. Selects and acquires necessary equipment, then sets up, operates and captures time of event data at test site. Compares timing delays between muzzle exit source trigger and receiving instrumentation. Relocates, sets up, troubleshoots, and operates muzzle exit equipment which include Muzzle Exit Systems; Wireless Relay Systems and Remote Receivers or Transmitters and associated equipment, including: video cameras, optical triggers, acoustic triggers, light event detector triggers, electronic triggers, video recorders, GPS timing units, computers, and generators. Provides guidance to small and large teams of technicians. Performs organizational level maintenance on equipment. Maintains records and logbooks. Trains and mentors junior level technicians. May write SOPs and technical manuals. Recommends techniques for solving complex technical issues. Recommends equipment for purchase to improve efficiency or data quality. May schedule Muzzle Exit technicians per mission requirements. Interfaces with test customer to understand requirements. Performs other duties as needed to ensure completion of test mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualifications
Pay Rate: $31.91Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.* Must have one of the following 3 years as a Muzzle Exit Tech II in section OR BA/BS Degree in a technical field and 1 year experience as a Muzzle Exit Tech II OR an Associate’s degree, Trade School or Military training in a related field and 2 years as a Muzzle Exit Tech II.Job Skills Requirements:* Must provide personally-owned common hand tools.* Must have demonstrated leadership experience.* Must be tolerant of frequent weapons firings.* Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel.Physical Requirements:* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.* Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.* Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit and as low as -50 degrees Fahrenheit.* Must be capable of lifting 50 50 lbs. unassisted.* Must be able to climb ladders safely.* Must be capable of kneeling, squatting, bending and standing while performing duties.* Must be able to distinguish colors * Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for Optical Tracking.Job Requirements:* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.* Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.* Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.* Must be able speak, write, read, and understand English.* Must have a well-mannered customer service attitude.* Must be willing to cross-train in other areas.* Must use “down-time” effectively to the benefit of test, self, and company.* Must be punctual, responsible, and dependable.* Must demonstrate motivation, initiative, and reliability.* Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.* Must have a demonstrated ability to follow instructions and company policy.* Must be able to deliver quality products to the customer and be responsive to their needs.* Must be safety and security conscious, complying with rules and policies.* Must be able to work both as part of a team and independently.Additional Desirable Qualifications:* Extensive knowledge of electronics repair.Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:* Must be a U.S. Citizen.* Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.* Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.Relevance of experience to be determined by hiring manager.Closing Date: 18 FEBRUARY 2025
