NAC - Med/Surg 5SOI

The NAC/Orthopedic Technician assists in the delivery of patient care and department-related activities under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.  Coordinates and oversees the management of designated equipment including the maintenance, storage, repair, staff education on use as appropriate, and assists with its application. Helps with care as needed, including transporting and discharging patients. Assists in keeping units well-stocked, neat and organized.

Required qualifications:

Upon hire: Washington Nursing Assistant Certification License  Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association 

Preferred qualifications:

Preferred experience in one of the following categories: Six months of acute care experience. One year of skilled nursing experience. Acute or skilled experience will be waived if the applicant has demonstrated experience involving customer service in healthcare or other related industry and completion of an acute care NAC course. Acute or skilled experience will be waived for students currently enrolled and in good standing at a traditional registered nursing program approved by the Nursing Quality Care Commission.  At a minimum, satisfactory completion of one academic term (quarter or semester) that included clinical patient care experience is required.  Strong preference will be given to students enrolled in a BSN program.
