NAMR Talent Acquisition Data Scientist Northeastern Co-op
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Data Science Co-op Intern at BCG, you will collaborate with our North American Talent Acquisition Analytics team to analyze data, build predictive models, and generate insights that shape our talent acquisition strategies. This role offers the opportunity to work with real-world data, develop advanced analytical skills, and gain a deep understanding of how data science drives business success within a leading global consulting firm.
YOU'RE GOOD AT
Data Analysis & Visualization: Analyze large datasets related to recruitment metrics, candidate pipelines, and hiring trends. Develop visualizations to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.Predictive Modeling: Build and deploy predictive models to forecast hiring needs, assess candidate quality, and optimize sourcing strategies.Data Cleaning & Preprocessing: Perform data cleaning, transformation, and integration to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data for analysis.Reporting & Insights: Produce regular reports on key recruitment metrics and provide actionable insights to BCG’s Talent Acquisition team.Collaboration: Work closely with recruiters, cohort teams, and other business functions to understand their data needs and deliver tailored analytics solutions.Automation: Identify and implement automation opportunities for repetitive tasks within the recruitment process using scripts, tools, or other techniques.Research & Development: Stay informed on the latest trends in data science and recruitment analytics. Contribute to the continuous enhancement of BCG’s analytics capabilities.
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
Required Qualifications:Current Enrollment: Must be enrolled as a student at Northeastern University, pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.Programming Skills: Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau. Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL for data analysis and modeling is desired but not required.Data Manipulation: Strong skills in data cleaning, preprocessing, and analysis.Statistical Knowledge: Solid understanding of statistical methods and their application in real-world scenarios.Microsoft Suite Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools, for data analysis, reporting, and presentations.Problem-Solving: Ability to approach complex problems analytically and develop innovative solutions.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate data-driven insights into actionable recommendations.Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to shared goals.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Tableau Prep and Alteryx: Hands-on experience using Tableau Prep and/or Alteryx for data preparation and workflow automation.Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems: Familiarity with applicant tracking systems such as Eightfold, iCIMS, or similar platforms is highly desirable.HR or Recruiting Experience: Prior experience or interest in HR analytics or recruitment processes is advantageous.Project Experience: Experience working on data science projects, whether through coursework, personal projects, or previous internships.
