NANA SHAREHOLDER COLLEGE INTERNSHIP - NANA Worley Designer Intern Paid Internship

Job Description

NANA Worley/NANA Shareholder college internships are between 24- 40 hours per week, continue for a minimum 8 weeks and will start in early June. Longer duration internships and an earlier start date is possible for the right candidate.

Summary

Assists Discipline Engineers, Project Engineers, Project Managers, and/or Engineering Manager with all aspects of the project engineering from proposal to final report by performing any of the following duties.

Internships will run from June 2 nd – August 3 rd .

Responsibilities

Review project drawings, standards and specifications for completeness and accuracy.

Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to produceCAD models/detail drawings.

Applies design standards & procedures to implement basic design.

Assist with the preparation of estimates, cost reports, forecasts, schedules, account codes, budgets, and change orders.

Coordinate quantity estimates by obtaining and analyzing data on unit labor costs and unit material costs.

Update estimates, schedules, reports, drawings, and documents based on revisions and changes to the project.

Assist with preparation of final project reports including obtaining historical data and information.

Assist in preparing, maintaining, and filing of departmental policies, procedures, and manuals.

Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff, and company information

Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Must be a NANA shareholder. NANA shareholders own stock in NANA Regional Corporation, Inc.

Must be 18 years or older.

Must be currently enrolled in college or a vocational school full-time and have completed one semester of postsecondary education.

Be declared in a major of project management, project controls or another closely related discipline.

Experience with AutoCAD and/or other industry specific software is preferred.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers, clients or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Word, word processing software, and MS Excel spreadsheet software.

Certificates and Licenses:

No certifications required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NANA’s vehicle insurance policy.
