National Account Director, Group Purchasing Organizations

Job Description

The primary responsibility of the GPO/LTC National Account Director (NAD) in Market Access & Account Management is to develop and manage business relationships with US-based National Group Purchasing Organizations, Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) Pharmacy Network Groups (Purchasing Groups), Oncology GPOs, the 340(B) Prime Vendor and Specialty/Outpatient GPOs (owned or managed by National GPOs) customers, Home Infusion Providers, LTC, National Practice Management Companies, Professional Societies and Infusion Center customers.

Through these relationships, the NAD leads Organon's efforts to maximize appropriate utilization of its portfolio while bringing resources and solutions to customers that contribute to better outcomes for patients.  The NAD must develop broad and deep relationships across the GPOs, their networks as well as their members / member owners to ensure understanding and alignment to customer needs.

Specific job responsibilities include:  account / business planning (strategic and tactical) for the entire Organon portfolio of products (Women’s Health, Biosimilars, Fertility and Legacy Brands) at a P&L level, by customer; negotiation and execution of pharmacy discount agreements and product contract offerings; individual account performance against strategic, financial and product access objectives; and account collaborations that result in business solutions of mutual benefit to both Organon and the customer.

The NAD works with internal personnel from the Customer Contract Management (Finance), Operations, Brand Marketing, and Business Units across Organon to ensure product access and availability to all our customers.  The NAD will be responsible for working with and through a complex Organon team of stakeholders to champion customer opportunities internally.  The NAD must have strong collaboration and communication skills to ensure local and regional pull through of nation product access opportunities through our Women’s Health, Fertility, Legacy Brands and Biosimilars teams.

Other core responsibilities include:

Ensure broad, profitable formulary access for Organon products within the GPO, Network, and 340(b) books of business

Effectively manage the contracting process; collaborate with internal contract managers, operations and legal teams

Develop and implement strategy to meet/exceed goals of Organon products for GPOs, and their IDN and non-IDN members

Ensure rapid access for launch products

Create and maintain strategic account plans

Implement value-added programs intended to enhance the customer relationship

Develop an extensive understanding of the customers' organizational goals in order to assess their needs and develop plans/programs to meet both the needs of the customer and those of Organon

Interface with Marketing, Contract Management and Operations to maximize product access and pull-through

Represent the GPO and 340(b) channels within Organon, proactively identifying, summarizing, and communicating account needs, risks, and opportunities Maintain a high level of knowledge of the GPO, IDN and Physician-owned member regulations and healthcare trends

Manage administrative requirements of the job

Understand and apply Compliance Policies and Procedures

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree required

Five plus years of recent Sales or Account Management experience, or relevant health care experience.

Annualized Salary Range (US)

$166,100.00 - $282,600.00
