National Account Inside Sales Specialist

Job Summary

Responsible for creating a best-in-class order fulfillment experience for the national account sales team and customers, including quoting, order entry, and follow-ups on delayed deliveries. Leveraging trade expertise to handle complex order requests and efficiently source products from branches with varying inventories. Driving sales growth by recommending companion products to customers.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

Process orders, prepare quotes, and leverage product knowledge to identify cross-sell opportunities and provide top-tier customer service to national customers & Sales Team.

Collaborate with the team to ensure quick and accurate order processing, monitor for delays, and proactively address issues by sourcing non-stock or out-of-stock products for national customers & sales team.

Actively sell companion products to customers and suggest opportunities for companion products to national sales team.

Drive margin excellence through careful management of pricing overrides.

Optimize delivery logistics by placing orders through the closest servicing branch to the customer.

Offer best-in-class customer service by providing ongoing support and assistance. Address customer needs and seek out solutions to drive sales.

Build strong relationships with national customers & sales team to deliver top-tier service.

Nature and Scope

May modify processes to resolve situations.

Under limited supervision, relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine the best approach to achieve desired outcomes. Course of action is often determined by interpreting procedures and policies. Work typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor or direct customers of the process.

Is sought out and/or assigned to provide general guidance/direction, training, and technical assistance to junior level support personnel. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring/firing authority.

Work Environment

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas. Generally 5-7 years of experience in a related area of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

2-5 years of experience in customer care, inside sales, or outside sales in commercial construction or similar industries.

Demonstrated success driving sales and managing relationships.
