National Accounts Manager- Retail Minka Lighting & FansThe National Account Manager, Retail, will work with our team to identify and launch innovative products into two of our most important customers, Lowes & Home Depot!
The National Account Manager, Retail will closely coordinate activities with those of all cross-functional partners to lead all aspects of the customer interactions, including business planning, promotional campaigns, and understand the key goals and objectives for each organization. Measuring success will be important to understand both sales growth and long-term profitability for both our in store and our digital sales.
This is approved to be a Remote role anywhere in the US. However, our ideal candidate will be near, or with easy access, to the Atlanta or Charlotte markets.
Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement an effective account strategy for both retailers, ensuring strong collaboration cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure alignment with Minka Corporate objectivesLead and implement national and regional sales programs focused on increasing product selection, placement, and implementation of Minka products in retail customer channelAchieve or exceed assigned revenue quotas by using a deep understanding of our customer’s business structure, goals, and decision-makersAnalyze current market trends and competitor products and communicate internally to develop new sales strategies, programs, and product innovations across all product categoriesCollaborate with Marketing, Channel and Digital teams to propose customer-specific product development opportunities and coordinate all aspects of the Stage Gate processWork with the demand planner to develop accurate sales and purchase forecasts by analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and promotional plansLead product presentations, trade show displays, and key product demonstrations, using product samples to highlight key features and benefitsOrganize and participate in trade shows and other customer events as requiredPrepare and deliver competitive pricing quotes, negotiate contract terms, and finalize sales agreementsWork collaboratively with Channel team business updates on the retail channel, aligning key partners on forecasts, inventory levels, and critical initiativesCoordinate and facilitate customer training initiatives to ensure thorough product knowledge, conduct store walks to assess product presentation, and provide feedback to enhance customer experience and optimize sales performance across retail locationsFoster relationships with purchasing, planning, and other support function contacts within Lowes & Home Depot to ensure smooth account operations and resolution of any delivery issuesPreferred QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of professional sales or marketing experience, preferably with national accounts in the home improvement industryProven track record of successfully managing large, complex national accountsMeticulous, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously; while meeting deadlinesExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations and communicate effectively with both internal and external partnersStrong negotiation, mathematical, and analytical skills, with proven ability to secure favorable outcomesSelf-motivated, with a results oriented approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative teamAbility to identify potential opportunities, anticipate future issues by applying business analytics, ensure timely mitigation strategies and capitalize on growth opportunitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)Proven ability to manage resources efficiently, with a focus on improving return on investment and driving operational excellenceWillingness to travel up to 25%, including occasional weekends, as requiredAbility to adhere to an established expense budget and manage resources efficientlyCapable of lifting 50 lbs. and comfortable working on ladders at heights of 15’ to 20’Mechanical proficiency and basic understanding of electrical systemsBachelor’s degree (BA or BS or equivalent experience) required; MBA preferredAt The Minka Group, we care for each other. Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
