Job Title: National Contribution Technician (TERM) Grade: TS-5
Purpose:
This position is responsible for posting and balancing all incoming contributions and
reports for SEIU Benefit Funds Office. This position handles sensitive and confidential
information.
Primary Responsibilities: (Any one position may not include all of the specific duties

Receives, processes and reconciles contribution remittances.
Receives contributions deposited by Accounting and bank
Reviews, reconciles and records employer data
Tracks and notes any discrepancy found
Contacts employer if warranted for additional information needed
Records batch/batches in log
Gives batch/batches to position maintaining control log
Assists in clerical function of SEIU Benefit Funds Collections Department
Monthly mailings of reports and letters
Monthly mailing of census and beneficiary cards
Filing of correspondence received, closed reports, etc (electronic and paper)
Scanning of delinquency letters
Monitors and resolves issues related to contributions received with and without
approved CBA
Provides information requested by fund consultants, as directed by management.
Assists outside consultants (attorneys, auditors, actuaries, etc) in providing
requested information requested through Collection Manager or management
Acts as liaison between Collections and Benefits Processing to ensure
participants contributions are accurate
Assists the Benefits Processing and Payroll Review in verification of accurate
contributions for participants
Assists the Payroll Review in resolving outstanding audit issues
Collaborates with the Payroll Review to resolve outstanding audit issues
Assists Payroll Review in resolving outstanding audit issues
Maintains participant and beneficiary census data
Prepares and coordinates reports for Trustees Meetings
Performs other duties as required to support the department and its mission.
National Contribution Technician (TERM)
Direction and Decision Making:
This position reports to the Contributions Compliance Manager.
Education and Experience:
Associates degree from an accredited college or university with coursework including
business administration and advanced math or other related coursework and two (2)
years of experience in a multi-employer pension environment.
Equivalency:
High school or GED, one (1) year of college coursework including business
administration and advanced math and three (3) years of experience in a multi-
employer pension environment.
Or, a combination or education and experience that would provide for the following
knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to analyze, interpret, apply and communicate ERISA, DOL and IRS
Regulations as related to the Plans
Ability to analyze, interpret, apply and communicate plan language
Ability to create and maintain confidentiality of information
Ability to perform detailed calculations with accuracy in an efficient manner
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to think critically and produce sound, logical conclusions
Ability to perform data entry functions
Ability to work efficiently and effectively in demanding environment
Ability to handle sensitive situations in calm respectful manner
Ability to handle multiple projects, meet established deadlines and adapt to an
ever changing environment for the purpose of accomplishing results
Ability to organize work/tasks to provide for systematic and efficient processes
Ability to produce work accurately and thoroughly
Ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach toward assignments while
actively participating and supporting a team environment
Proficient in the use of personal computers using accounting, database, and
spreadsheet software or other SEIU Benefit Funds Office software, including
Microsoft Office Suite, in the performance of record keeping
Test Certifications:
Excel (Intermediate); Word (Basic)
Physical Requirements:
Work is generally performed in an office setting. Overtime required as necessary
Probationary Period:
Sixteen (16) calendar weeks
