Director of Communications

Who You’ll Work With:

Bernstein Private Wealth Management is seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial, results-driven, and creative leader to lead our communications and PR strategy. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of our external and internal communications, including media relations, advisor communications, executive visibility, and crisis communications.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing for Private Wealth, you will work to grow our brand presence, enhance our reputation and deliver high-impact results for the firm.

What You’ll Do:

Generate and implement an effective communications strategy that aligns with the firm’s strategic priorities and expands our profile within the high net worth and ultra-high net worth marketplace and the national wealth advisory industry.

Oversee day-to-day media relations including PR agency relationship, news outlets, and key journalists as necessary.

Nurture relationships with key spokespeople, including executive leadership, Bernstein national thought-leaders, and regional market leaders to help them better communicate their messages to internal and external audiences.

Manage and produce internal communications, including executive messaging, internal advisor communications, newsletters, and company-wide announcements to activate employee engagement.

Innovate and deliver ongoing media training and provide continual support for key spokespeople.

Monitor and vet all external appearances in accordance with the firm’s media policy.

Partner closely with cross-functional teams, such as social media, marketing strategy, wealth and investment strategists, and AB corporate communications teams to ensure cohesion and consistency in messaging across all channels and to increase brand awareness.

Anticipate reputational risks and develop communication plans to address them proactively.

Develop and maintain reporting metrics to measure the effectiveness of our efforts.

The successful candidate will be an adept project manager and comfortable working under pressure while managing stakeholders at all levels from local market leaders to senior executives. Equally importantly, the candidate must be passionate about our business and promoting and protecting our brand. Senior communications leader with 10+ years of experience in wealth advisory, brokerage, or private banking

Proven track record of success in development and implementation of external and internal communications strategies that drive positive business outcomes.

Strong existing network of journalist relationships in the financial press

Outstanding communicator (written, verbal, and analytical)

Strategic thinker, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and rapidly build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Strong project manager, capable of managing multiple projects and expectations simultaneously.

Storyteller, able to craft compelling messaging for a variety of audiences.

Adaptable, with experience in mitigation and management of crisis communications.

In accordance with applicable law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows: Base Salary Range: $125,000-$150,000. Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at AB, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year-end incentive compensation, short- and long-term incentives and Department-specific awards.
