Supports partnerships, corporate, external, and legal affairs while leading or contributing to Microsoft’s social impact programs.
Leads market-making initiatives for the Public Sector, regulated industries, and beyond by addressing compliance, security, and privacy challenges in strategic deals.
Supports field teams in building internal and external capacity, offering thought leadership on key concerns.
Advises senior leadership on industry and technology trends while serving as a Microsoft spokesperson to enhance public relations.
**Responsibilities**
**Business Enablement**
+ Acts as a trusted advisor, bridging regulators, customers, and Microsoft to align industry interests and corporate strategies.
+ Supports Public Sector and regulated industries by assessing the impact of emerging technologies and driving market-making initiatives.
+ Engages with corporate teams (CELA, Research, Engineering) to address unique challenges and opportunities in cloud, AI, security, and compliance.
+ Identifies and removes non-functional blockers in strategic deals related to compliance, security, privacy, and sovereignty.
+ Advocates for policy impact, business case development, and technology improvements through structured stakeholder engagement.
**Regulatory & Compliance Leadership**
+ Provides thought leadership on cybersecurity, data privacy, compliance, and national sovereignty.
+ Works with internal teams (CELA, Engineering, Compliance) and external stakeholders (regulators, industry bodies) to address evolving standards and certifications.
+ Anticipates regulatory changes, aligns policies with industry trends, and proactively influences future regulations.
+ Ensures Microsoft’s business continuity by mitigating risks and driving strategic cybersecurity resilience initiatives.
**Qualifications**
**Required/minimum qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or other related field AND 10+ years' experience working across multiple disciplines/domains (e.g., technology management, consulting, policy and regulations, legal/privacy, or a related field) OR equivalent experience.
**Additional or preferred qualifications**
+ Master's Degree or Doctorate Degree in a related field.
+ 5+ years people/project management experience working with cross-functional teams.
+ APPLIES TO NATIONAL SECURITY OFFICER SPECIALIZATION - 6+ years working across multiple disciplines/domains (e.g., security technology, legal/privacy).
+ APPLIES TO NATIONAL SECURITY OFFICER SPECIALIZATION - Certification related to security (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
