Generative AI is a branch of AI that uses machine learning algorithms to generate content from data, such as instructions using natural language. It can produce text, images, sounds, videos, or other types of media that mimic the style, content, or structure of the original data. Generative AI offers many opportunities, especially for companies that want to innovate, differentiate themselves, or optimize their processes. For example, it can help generate advertising slogans, logos, designs, reports, summaries, etc. It can also enable personalized customer experiences, enhance engagement, or improve user retention. To support these various uses, Microsoft’s generative AI platform provides a set of on-demand, ready-to-use services (Azure Open AI, Azure Cognitive Search, Azure Machine Learning, etc.). It allows developers, startups, and entrepreneurs to innovate and develop the next generation of AI applications that will make the impossible possible. Generative AI also raises ethical, societal, and legal challenges, such as verifying the reliability of content or protecting privacy. Therefore, it is essential to develop responsible AI applications that respect human values and rights, keeping humans at the center and in control. These must act as co-pilots. To support the development of these "Co-pilot" experiences, the Semantic Kernel development kit, available as open-source, helps orchestrate AI plugins and connectors to different data sources, while continuing to leverage existing skills and investments in development. If you’re interested in generative AI and want to join a dynamic, passionate team, your mission will involve studying and implementing the services and technologies offered by Microsoft, by defining relevant use cases to demonstrate the value of this AI platform. In addition to the previous challenges, generative AI presents security concerns, as it could be misused to produce misleading, malicious, or illegal content. It is therefore necessary to develop methods to detect, prevent, and counteract AI abuses to ensure the trust and safety of users. These use cases could be accompanied by an analysis of the risks associated with their implementation and possible mitigations and countermeasures, which could be demonstrated in various ways. **Responsibilities** **Your Tasks During the Internship:** + Skill development on generative AI services in Microsoft’s public cloud Azure, as well as complementary frameworks, runtimes, and technologies like Semantic Kernel, using publicly available resources, GitHub community repositories, and internal training materials (online courses, videos). + Definition of relevant use case scenarios and the concrete implementation of proof-of-concept projects to showcase these services and components. + The proof-of-concepts may lead to the creation of ready-to-use implementation models. Sharing these and contributing to other Open Source projects supported by or contributed to by Microsoft on GitHub may also be considered. + Participation as a speaker in internal or public events (if desired by the intern) or recording webinars on the produced use cases based on available opportunities. **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Technical Engineering or related field. + Must be legally authorised to work in France + Fluent in French + Fluent in English **Preferred Qualifications:** + Ability to write high-quality documents that make technology accessible to IT professionals, project managers, architects, and developers (e.g., step-by-step workshops, summary reports, self-learning scenarios). + Team spirit and ability to collaborate with multiple entities + Rigorous and structured, with good priority management + Communication: proactive and effective information sharing internally and externally + Reactivity and flexibility: ability to respond quickly to unforeseen circumstances Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
