National Vice President Sales – Diabetes

The National Vice President Sales - Diabetes (NVP) will architect and execute a dynamic sales strategy focused on aggressively acquiring new patients requiring diabetes supplies in the home. The NVP will provide visionary leadership to the sales organization, inspiring and directing a high-performing team to achieve ambitious patient acquisition targets and expand the company's market presence within the diabetes sector. This role demands a strong understanding of the diabetes patient journey, proven success in building and leading effective sales teams, and the ability to forge strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, manufacturers, and referral networks. Success will be measured though the ability to win and retain referral sources as well as deliver patient growth while demonstrating an ability to improve mix and profitability within their regions. In-depth knowledge of the market, products and services offered, and a competitive landscape are a must.

This is a remote position, working out of your home office and requires 50% travel.  The role reports into the SVP/GM.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of ~90 direct and indirect employees, including Region Managers, Territory Business Managers, and Business/Channel Development.This role will analyze market opportunities and develop/implement plans to achieve maximum penetration within the market. This individual leads the collaboration with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities to bring the highest level of service, value and solutions to our customers.The National VP builds and maintains relationships with the key customers in the region which will connect the products and services offered to the customer’s performance objectives. In this role, the National VP may represent the company at industry events or conferences where they promote awareness of Cardinal’s business.This position provides the vision, strategy, purpose and motivation for the field team. This leader coaches and develops a team of sales leaders to achieve business results. Through clear concise communication, this individual will drive accountability at both the leader and individual contributor level. Accountable for the hiring and performance management within the region, the VP must have the ability to inspire and motivate teams.Works collaboratively with Strategic Accounts, Sales counterparts across the Segment, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and other internal functions on current business and new opportunities.Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of Cardinal Health, distribution, and diabetes industry including key competitors, technology, trends, challenges and customer requirements.  Demonstrates advanced knowledge of how Cardinal Health offerings impact customers.Creates a high-performance culture though robust performance management and talent development.  Fosters and supports effective teamwork, accountability and innovation.Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of customer's successes, challenges, and strategic objectives; draws from experience and significant financial acumen to recognize and provide advice regarding potential opportunities and risksStrategically navigates complex payer and reimbursement dynamics while strengthening team’s market acumen to improve provider and patient awareness of medical policies and coverage criteriaProactively seeks out and fosters strategic partnerships with key influencers at multiple levels in the client organization and within Cardinal Health; takes swift and decisive action to address any concerns or obstacles

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.10+ years healthcare sales experience in distribution, calling on referral sources preferred.Knowledge of diabetes market, strongly preferredUnderstands market expectations related to how healthcare providers and diabetes educators make decisions.Candidate should be able to give discreet examples of ‘WHY’ they win and how to leverage resources in operations, legal and compliance that indicates a bias for getting to YES!An ideal candidate demonstrates a bias to ruthlessly prioritize results vs. behaviors.Successful track record of exceeding sales targets and growing market share within defined scopeProven leadership capabilities, including ability to manage diverse personalities/skill sets in a changing environmentExcellent planning, forecasting, financial and negotiation skillsDemonstrated matrix management skills; ability to work with cross-functional teamsExecutive presence and solid presentation and communication capabilitiesAbility to travel 50% domestically, booking travel according to Cardinal Health’s travel policy.Ability to work remotely from home/field requires a dedicated, quiet, private, distraction free environment with access to high-speed internet. We will provide you with the computer, technology and equipment needed to successfully perform your job. You will be responsible for providing high-speed internet.

Anticipated salary range: $163,000 - 263,235
