About the role
Enhance pricing capability in perils and catastrophe modelling for riverine flood, overland run-off, cyclone, storm surge, bushfire, earthquake, hail and storm. Support the continual refinement of assessing natural peril risk, recognising technological advances, and a changing climate. Identify and evaluate and external data and models. Provide Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analysis of perils risk and accumulation management. Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse team members and key stakeholders.
About you
Tertiary qualification in actuarial studies, mathematics or other relevant discipline. Significant experience (5+ years) in one or more of the following: general insurance, catastrophe modelling, reinsurance, geographic information systems, acquired in a complex, matrixed general insurance or financial services organisation. Demonstrated consulting and influencing skills, demonstrating the ability to co-create solutions with key business stakeholders. Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions. Ability to interpret and analyse information, extract meaningful insights and provide support to evaluate options for decision making. Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact and influence.
