Navigator

We're Hiring: Navigator – Washington, DC

Compensation: $24.00 - $26.44 per hour

Join an innovative team dedicated to empowering families in Washington, DC! As a Navigator with the Career Mobility Action Plan (Career MAP), you’ll be a key advocate for participants transitioning from homelessness to sustainable careers. This role goes beyond traditional case management—it's about coaching, supporting, and helping individuals overcome barriers to success while navigating career development and essential family resources.

What You'll Do

As a Case Manager (aka Navigator), you’ll be part of a groundbreaking pilot program, The District of Columbia Career Mobility Action Plan (Career MAP). Career MAP provides resources directly to families who have experienced homelessness; are committed to pursuing a career; and are at risk of losing cash, food, health care, childcare, and housing benefits more quickly than their income can cover these lost resources (also known as 'benefits cliffs'). You will coordinate services beyond traditional case management through a more robust coaching model that includes specific performance benchmarks. Career MAP takes a holistic, two-generational approach to supporting families that includes the foundational components of family well-being: career pathways, child development, financial assets, health and wellbeing, and social capital. Most importantly, Career MAP recognizes families as drivers of their own success, and the program tailors service connections to meet the needs of individual participants.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
✅ Guide participants in creating personalized career and life plans
✅ Connect families to critical resources—housing, childcare, education, and job training
✅ Provide hands-on support, from paperwork assistance to service coordination
✅ Engage with community providers, employers, and government agencies to ensure progress
✅ Track employment, education milestones, and career growth for participants

What We’re Looking For:
✔ Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field (preferred)
✔ 3+ years of experience in vocational rehabilitation, case management, or workforce development
✔ Mental Health First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
✔ Bilingual in Spanish is a plus!
