Overview The Oncology Nurse Navigator functions on the multidisciplinary team as a direct point of contact, advocate and educator for oncology patients. The Nurse Navigator is responsible for ensuring all adult patients with an oncology diagnosis receive quality and comprehensive services and will coordinate patient care throughout the continuum in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. The Nurse Navigator will serve as a clinical resource with expertise in hematology/oncology care management and serve as a liaison throughout the facility and in the community regarding services provided for this unique patient population. Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor�s degree. Specific course work: BSN from an accredited school of nursing Preferred Education: N/A Required Licensure/Certifications: Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida Preferred Licensure/Certifications: Certified Nurse Navigator Required Experience: 1-2 years Oncology Nursing or Nurse Navigation Preferred Experience: N/A Necessary Skills: 1. Team builder 2. Good verbal and written communication skills. 3. Experience with conflict resolution and negotiation strategies. 4. Able to use Excel, Word and Power Point computer applications. Age of Patients Served: Adult (18-64 years) Geriatric (= 65 years)
