HDR is currently seeking a Dams, Levees, Civil Works Business Class Leader to join our North Carolina Water Business Group. This individual will be involved with all aspects of our Water Business Group's Dams, Levees, Civil Works program. They will collaborate with and leverage HDR staff across the company as well as teaming partners to develop solutions for our clients. Primary duties of this position will include pursuing, planning, managing, and delivering all aspects of Dams, Levees, Civil Works projects. On a day-to-day basis, they will also be expected to:
Actively lead our growing North Carolina Dams, Levees, Civil Works business class. Collaborate with HDR technical leaders, operations leaders, market sector directors, project managers, and project teams to deliver world class quality Dams, Levees, Civil Works services, project management services and construction services for projects and programs utilizing multiple delivery models.Actively engage with the local project teams and assist in Go/No-Go discussions, project risk assessments, SOQs, proposals, interviews, and negotiations as required.Participate in client relationship management, client presentations, conference presentations, and interviews.Participate in scope, schedule, and budget development for Dams, Levees, Civil Works projects. Provide project delivery support including planning, contract administration and management, technical consulting, design reviews, subcontract management and construction services.Actively participate in related national dams professional organizations and NC One Water.Mentor and develop other employees.Perform other duties as needed.Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical or similar combination of relevant education and experience10 years of Dams, Levees, Civil Works experienceProfessional Engineer licenseStrong leadership skills and project management experience with multiple national remote teamsProven experience managing projects, client relationships, proposal development, and business developmentSelf-starter with excellent writing and communication skillsStrong conceptual, organizational, problem solving, and collaboration skillsProficient with Microsoft Office and conferencing platforms (Zoom, WebEx, Teams, etc.)Current NC One Water involvementFamiliar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management softwareMust have the ability to interact with various design professionals, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skillsLocal candidates are preferredLI-SM1Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field 10 years of experience Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience Experienced in development and management of diverse teams Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
