NCIS SQL Database Administrator Location: USMC Base Quantico near Stafford, VA, US Job ID: 16521 Job Description Job Description: Title: SQL Database Administrator Location: Quantico, VA (on-site 3 days a week, remote 2 days a week) Clearance: Must hold an active Secret Security Clearance to be considered, and will need to have the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as a SQL DBA Administrator supporting The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). How a Database Administrator will Make an Impact: As the SQL DBA Administrator, you will manage all current and planned SQL Server databases that support our customer’s COTS applications. You will also be part of a team of systems administrators managing Windows Server 2016-2019, desktops, and printers. In addition:You will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of these databases. If additional databases are required in the future, the candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing those databases, including database creation, security, access, backup and recovery, and documentation. You must be experienced with applying STIGs to SQL Server databases and be familiar with the impacts on the related applications. You must have excellent documentation skills, and will be responsible for creating related standards, operating procedures, and security documentation Database monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and tuning Perform administration and management of Microsoft SQL Server 2012-2019 and Microsoft SQL Reporting Services Familiar with SQL Always-on setup and management and Microsoft Failover Clustering Perform day-to-day monitoring and maintenance of SQL Server databases. Perform database and system performance monitoring and troubleshootingSSIS and PowerBI Reporting Server Administration Other SQL DBA duties as assigned Additionally: Database backup and recoveryDevelop, document, and apply procedures for database backup and recovery Perform scheduled and nonscheduled database backups and recovery with Microsoft SQL Server SSMS, or SQL CMD Database creation Participate in the analysis of database solutions Responsible for the definition, design, creation, and implementation of a database environment with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security Systems Administration Evaluate and install new software releases, patches, and system upgradesIdentify and troubleshoot system issues Develop, document, and apply procedures for systems backup and recovery May program in an administrative language (PowerShell, VBS, etc.)Perform ACAS and SCAP scans and remediation Assist Tier 2 help desk with issues elevated to systems administrators Create and update user accounts, perform accounts management in Active DirectorySecurity and STIGs Support the Certification and Accreditation process - run scans; resolve findings; document solutions, workarounds or provide justifications for exceptions Document, implement, and maintain database security policies in accordance with DISA STIG requirements DocumentationDefine and oversee database standards, controls, procedures, and documentation Create all documentation required for Release Management Framework (RMF) Complete planning and documentation prior to new integration or implementation What You’ll Need to Succeed: Education:BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree Security+ CE– must have before hire Required Experience:5+ years of work experience administering MS SQL Server databases (SQL 2012 or newer) Experience with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption in SQL Server Experience administering SQL Server 2016-2019 Security Clearance Level:Secret; must be able to obtain TS/SCI Required Skills and Abilities: Microsoft Server 2016 or higher Microsoft SQL 2012 -2019 High Availability of SQL Cluster Preferred Skills:Microsoft Server 2016 or higher Microsoft SQL 2012 -2019 Arena Technical Resources, LLC, (ATR) is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) who will provide equal employment opportunity to employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, color, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, veteran status, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, family structure, genetic information, or mental or physical disability.
