NDI Level III Technician

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a NDI Technician to join our growing team.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State. 

The NDI Level III Technician establishes, coordinates and approves product / materials testing, processes, procedures, and customer/third party certifications, focusing on non-destructive testing (NDT) in the aerospace structural composite sector. Ensure training records and certifications of Janicki Industries NDT technicians performing ultra-sonic testing on products are up to date. Review and approve NDT testing results to internal, customer, and industry regulatory requirements. Perform ultra-sonic and/or radiographic testing, composite structure inspections and penetrant inspection of welds, castings and other metallic structures as required.  

The NDI Level III performs the following duties:

Establishes, implements, and follows procedures on non-destructive testing processes Coordinates customer approval / qualification activities Coordinates Nadcap / OEM accreditation activities Selects the method and technique for a specific test Provides guidance, training and direction to others who are certified in the non-destructive testing Ensures lower level employees follow procedures and produce finished products in accordance with regulatory requirements, customer specifications and the JI Quality Management System (AS9100 Rev D) Troubleshoots inspection issues Interfaces with engineers on new applications and products Creates and updates inspection techniques for new and existing products Applies LEAN Principles in daily tasks to streamline process flow and increase efficiency Performs other duties as assigned Behavior: The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.  The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors. Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management or equivalent work experience Level III certification in UT, ET and PT Experience in the evaluation of ultrasonic pulse-echo and through transmission C-scan data of welds, composite and metallic structures Experience in Fluorescent penetrant inspection of flight critical hardware Experience in ultrasonic inspection of composite materials At least 5 years or more expert level experience in managing production and manufacturing processes.  Similar experience with customer interaction and deadline management.  Expert skill in use of quality management objectives Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language Demonstrate superior ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects Strong analytical, leadership, interpersonal, and mentoring skills Strong technical and communication skills Knowledge of PC systems architecture Strong technical knowledge of Windows Operating Systems

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Wage range for this role is between $25 to $45 hourly plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
