NDI Technician Level 1

Responsibilities Location: Kinston, NC - RELOCATION assistance available for those that qualify Key Accountabilities once up to speed: Responsible for using analysis techniques to evaluate the properties of materials, components or systems without causing damage Utilize Non-Destructive inspection method (ultrasonic testing) to verify parts and processes are in compliance with customer engineering requirements Set-up and standardize NDI equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results Establish techniques from approved general procedure or work instructions for final approval Conduct system performance checks in accordance with applicable process standards Provide necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees Perform audit surveillance on non-destructive inspection processes and initiate and document any non-conformances according to specification, process and procedures Interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control NDT methods Assume technical responsibility for the NDT facility, equipment and staff Prepare, verify and approve procedures and work instruction for technical adequacy Provide training, examination, and certification of personnel Perform audit surveillance on non-destructive inspection processes and initiate and document any non-conformances according to specification, process and procedures Qualifications Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED is required 3-5 years’ related experience MS Office Suite skills 80+ hours of formal classroom training in NDI techniques, to include ultrasonic inspection (Must be able to provide documentation) NAS 410 NDI level 2 or level 3 certification (must be able to provide documented proof) Must have the ability to work any shift, including alternative work weeks Preferred Qualifications: 800 hours of directly related experience Aerospace Industry experience Previous Quality Assurance experience Spirit AeroSystems is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy, age, disability, veteran status or any other protected factor under federal, state or local law.
