BWXT is currently seeking an NDT Engineer to join our growing team in Mt. Vernon, IN!
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the technical excellence of NDT programs and inspections. Collaborate with Level III Inspectors and/or NAVSEA Examiners to ensure processes, procedures, techniques, and inspections meet contract requirements. Collaborate with Project Engineering to author reports documenting well engineered solutions to technical problems and nonconformities. Drive continuous improvement within the NDT inspection program including the submittal of technical contract changes related to NDT as needed. Participate in and/or lead inspection development, training activities, and equipment procurement across all NDT methods. Provide technical cognizance over supplier NDT activities for the facility and coordinate with other BWXT facilities to resolve common supplier NDT performance issues. Assess candidate non-destructive evaluation needs and develop design concepts for custom system development to meet those needs. Design and model NDE tests supported by analysis and numerical modeling to optimize testing systems. Perform NDE system design including specifying subsystem components such as scanners, NDE instruments, data acquisition instruments, and software development.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. At least 4 years of related experience with an emphasis on NDT methods. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Proven analytical and complex problem-solving skills. Experience working in collaborative environments and leading cross-functional teams of subject matter experts. Able to identify industry best practices and lessons learned to apply to the implementation in facility processes. Self-starter, able to work as part of a team, and individually according to work needs. Must be a U.S. Citizen with no dual citizenship. Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
Preferred Requirements
Experience using CIVA for simulating ultrasonic and eddy current inspections. Experience using CAPPSNC or Renishaw measurement programming. Experience using CAD packages.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00
The base salary range for this position in Indiana (US-IN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $75,000.00 and $125,000.00 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
