Eaton’s AER MSD Mission System Division division is currently seeking a NDT Inspector.
The hours for the role are 6:00am-2:30pm
The hourly rate for this position is $29.46 per hour.

What you’ll do:Under limited supervision, the NDT Inspector will perform visual and penetrant inspection of welds, forgings, castings, machined surfaces or other fabricated parts in accordance with company procedures, customer codes, standards and other contractual documents for a variety of life support, air-to-air refueling, and personal survival equipment systems. This position requires extensive training and testing in welding techniques and dye penetrant.
In this function you will:
• Maintain certification and calibration of the fluorescent penetrant processing line
• Perform inspection, functional testing, type testing and examination of all product subassemblies, final assemblies and finished products
• Perform product and certification verification using special processing knowledge which includes but is not limited to the following; NDT process, conversion coat, welding, passivation, anodize and aluminum heat treat
• Perform final and in-process inspection including detail and assembly compliance verification during manufacture and final validation prior to stock and/or installation
• Must have knowledge of process control techniques, statistical sampling, torque methods and exposure to Acceptance Test Methods associated with hydraulic/pneumatic systems
• Operate all product related test equipment to analyze, record, and determine acceptability of product performance
• Check all finished product, associated documentation, and sales order requirements prior to shipment
• May perform process validations and process, system or product audits at site or suppliers’ facilities
• Perform source inspections or verification of inspection techniques at suppliers’ facilities
• Maintain complete and accurate records of inspection activities
• Perform all operations according to prescribed safety and environmental principles
• Maintain working environment, calibration, and logs to meet NADCAP standards
• All other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution is required
• Minimum of 5 years documented experience in an occupational function that has direct relationship to weldments being fabricated to a specified code, other standard, or contract and shall be directly involved in one or more of the following functions:
• Must be able to train and pass Dye Penetrant Level 2 testing within 60 days of being in this position.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Davenport, IA to be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
Preferred qualifications:
• Two years of General Inspection
• NAS 410 Dye Penetrant level 2 certification (preferred) or certified IAW SNTC-1A Dye Penetrant level 2
• Visual level 2, CWI, Welding Inspector Specialist or 5 years welding inspection experience
• Two years’ experience in the inspection of welds, forgings, castings, and machinedsurfaces of non-ferrous alloys
• Familiar with the requirements of penetrant inspection specification ASTM E-1417 and MIL-STD-6866
Position Criteria:
• Must be capable of performing size, form, orientation, and runout measurements on standard and special design measuring equipment
• Must be able to power up and operate all product related test equipment
• Must be able to properly handle and manipulate fragile parts, completed product, and delicate measuring equipment without damaging them
• Must demonstrate ability to maintain complete and accurate records of inspection activities, using a computer terminal
• Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills and be able to get along with co-workers, suppliers, and customers
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision in an office or indoor industrial environment, lift more than 50lbs. frequently, and work in confined spaces
• Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, specifications, written instructions and sales order requirements
• Must have 20/20 vision corrected or uncorrected in at least one eye and average to normal color vision (4 to 6 responses Titmus, B&L or AO Testing machines or equivalent)
