Job Title: Quality Inspector- NDTJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector- NDT to perform nondestructive evaluations of metallic and composite parts using fluorescent penetrant inspection and robotic ultrasonic inspection. The role includes a variety of visual inspections, basic dimensional inspection layouts, preparation of test samples for evaluation, and evaluation of supplier-provided certifications to confirm material acceptability. Other inspection-related tasks may be assigned by Quality Management.
Responsibilities
+ Perform nondestructive evaluations of metallic and composite parts using fluorescent penetrant inspection and robotic ultrasonic inspection.
+ Conduct a variety of visual inspections for surface defects of metallic parts, composite parts, and welds, including perforation inspection and light leak inspection of laser-drilled holes.
+ Perform basic dimensional inspection layouts using height gauges, calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, profile projectors, contracers, and other basic measurement equipment.
+ Prepare test samples for evaluation, including cutting, mounting, and polishing of optical samples and separation of filter debris for SEM analysis.
+ Evaluate supplier-provided certifications to confirm material acceptability.
+ Complete other inspection-related tasks as directed by Quality Management.
+ Ensure no part inspection issues with any product that has been processed.
+ Archive part data correctly and complete all associated paperwork properly.
+ Document conditions that are suspected for nonconformances clearly and completely.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with ultrasonic testing, NDT inspecting, and NDT inspection.
+ OJT certification or completed hours to take the class.
+ High School Diploma.
+ Classroom training for fluorescent penetrant inspection and ultrasonic inspection.
+ Minimum of three (3) years performing inspections in aerospace environment, with a minimum of one (1) year working in NAS410 NDT program preferred.
+ Strong attention to detail and adherence to established processes.
+ Experience with visual inspection and characterization of surface defects.
+ Knowledge of tooling, gauges, specifications, and procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to become qualified as an NAS410 Level 2 inspector for PT within 1 year of hire, performing fluorescent penetrant inspection on metallic (aluminum, steel, or titanium) parts with smooth and cast surfaces.
+ Ability to become qualified as an NAS410 Level 1-limited (Level 2 a plus) inspector for UT within 6 months of hire, performing manual and robotic ultrasonic inspection on carbon fiber laminates with complex geometry and metallic parts.
+ Knowledge of MS Office products.
+ Ability to work within a team.
Work Environment
The position requires no travel and is for the second shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM) after training on the first shift. This role involves working in an aerospace environment, focusing on ensuring aircraft engine parts are built to type design and meet the requirements of the Quality Management System.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $61000.00 - $65000.00
Sixteen national holidays, six sick days, four personal days, three weeks of PTO, one additional week for plant shutdown. 401K is a eight percent match.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Greensboro,NC.
