Working at our Beavercreek Site:
GE Aerospace operations have been part of the Beavercreek community for over 70 years! Our Beavercreek facility manufactures gas turbine tubes, ducts, and manifolds, and also has complex machining, fabrication and investment casting capabilities. Product engineering, new product development and testing is performed on site. This facility also does repair and overhaul of tubes, ducts, and manifolds. We have been awarded OSHAS’s highest safety rating.
Role Overview:
Perform radioscopy and computed tomography inspections of aircraft engine turbine airfoils in a fast paced manufacturing environmentEvaluate images and interpret test findings in accordance with manufacturing blue prints, process specifications and work instructionsAccurately document test findings and archive historical recordsEffectively communicate information and perform duties in a teaming environmentPerform daily equipment set-up procedures and quality checksPerform radiation safety surveys and successfully complete annual radiation safety trainingThe Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will primarily perform radiography using X-rays to inspect materials for defects and imperfections of weldments and tubing, castings, etc. in accordance with company/customer drawings and specifications.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)Current level 2 certification in radiography meeting National Aerospace Standard (NAS) 410. Previous radiography training and experience must include a minimum of 80 hours formal classroom education, 800 hours radiography experiencePosses the skills and knowledge to setup and calibrate equipment, conduct tests, interpret, evaluate and document findings without supervision.Thorough knowledge of the scope and limitations of radiographic imaging techniquesAll applicants must successfully pass written general, specific and practical examinations.Preferred Qualifications:
Current level 2 certification in Digital Radiography meeting General Electric Quality Control Work Instruction T-049Minimum of 40 hours digital radiography classroom training and 200 hours of digital radiographic testing experiencePrevious experience performing digital radiographic inspection of cast turbine airfoilsPrevious GE Aviation manufacturing experienceFluorescent Penetrant certification or experience meeting NAS 410 level 2 requirements2 years experience in manufacturing environmentAdditional Information:
Wages $31.80 + per hour based on experienceMust be able to walk, sit, or stoop on a regular basis.
