Scope of Responsibility:
This position is responsible for conducting visual inspections of products before, during and after production processes to assure compliance with the Company’s standards and the Customer’s specifications. This position is also responsible for inspecting shipments of finished products. Will also be able to perform MT inspection on weldments.
Essential Duties:
Conducts in process and final visual weld and dimensional inspections in accordance with AWS D1.1Performs MT inspections as a Level II in accordance to Sabre’s quality requirementsPerforms UT inspections as a Level I in accordance to Sabre’s quality requirementsEnsures that all documentation is accurately and neatly completedCommunicates clearly and concisely via email, text, or verballyEnsures all inspections comply with Sabre’s quality standardsVerifies and maintains inspection and test status of product during all stages of manufacturingVerifies rework and repair of nonconforming productsInitiates requests for corrective action on observed conditions which do not conform to quality system requirementsPrepares, reviews and maintains Quality records appropriate to inspection and test activities to assure legibility, completeness, and correctness of the informationVisually inspects manufactured parts to ensure they are manufactured per the drawings/specificationsEnsures that customer requirements are determined and met or exceededContributes to a safe working environment by being responsible for quality, safety, organization, and cleanliness in area of operationContributes to team effort by communicating and working well with others, as well as accomplishing related tasks as neededMaintains a professional demeanor at all times Performs other duties as assigned. Position Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Must be able to meet the AWS D1.1 requirements of a visual weld inspector. 20 hours of MT classroom training per STN-TC-1A along with the associated verifiable 280 OJT Hours 40 hours of UT classroom training per STN-TC-1A along with the associated verifiable 210 OJT Hours
Skills & Abilities:
Effectively read and interpret blueprints and weld symbolsBasic knowledge welding fundamentalsMust be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, and in all types of weather conditions such as rain, snow, heat, and coldMust possess strong English verbal and written communication skillsMust be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, team environmentAbility to efficiently input and retrieve information from PC based information systemsMust possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and quality manuals, blueprints, design drawings and have proven ability to use and understand measuring and testing equipment.Ability to efficiently input and retrieve information from PC based information systemsAbility to effectively use measuring devices such as a tape measure, combination squares, levels, etc. to accurately verify all parts to printRegular and timely attendance is required
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform work functions while standing for long periods of timeMust be able to lift, push pry and drag heavy materials up to 50 lbsMust be able to reach, grasp, bend, stoop, crawl under or climb over to inspect productMust be able to pass the Jaeger 2 test and distinguish between red and yellowPosition works in a manufacturing environment. Environment could be noisy, dusty and will vary in temperature
