HDR has an excellent opportunity for a Nebraska/Iowa Utility Management Services Business Class Lead. In this position, you will serve as a seller-doer to grow the UMS business class by leading pursuits, managing staff, and managing projects.

HDR’s NE/IA UMS Business Class Lead will provide leadership to develop, coordinate, monitor, and improve technical services for municipal water and wastewater utility support services, particularly utility planning, asset management, finance, regulatory support, and operations consulting. The NE/IA UMS Business Class Lead will lead the growth and further develop and manage UMS projects that may include condition assessment and rehabilitation of water, stormwater and wastewater infrastructure, utility management/asset management, business process assessments, strategic planning, capital planning rate studies, operations optimization, regulatory support, system conveyance, master planning, technology selection/on-boarding, data management/ visualization, or pursuit of federal funding/financing.

In the role of NE/IA Utility Management Services Business Class Lead, we'll count on you to: Identify project opportunities, lead client development and pursuits to win work of key projects in the UMS business sector and assist with others as directedPursue UMS project opportunities across business groups, business classes and market sectorsDevelop and implement strategies, with the collaboration from local, regional and national support, for the marketing and delivery of UMS servicesManage and execute project delivery for drinking water, wastewater and stormwater utility projects as a Seller/DoerPerform Project Management duties and be responsible for project financials and the project teamDevelop, mentor and manage staff in the UMS business classActive engagement in selected professional conferences and industry associations with presentations, committee assignments and leadership positionsManage and develop multidiscipline teamsWork collaboratively with other Business Class Leads and Market Sector Leads within the water business groupCommit to quality, improvement and HDR valuesExcellent team player with ability to function effectively in a variety of roles on integrated project teamsPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsActively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brandWater and wastewater market sector business development accomplishments and aptitudeStrong communication and listening skillsStrong client relations skills, along with an interest in client and business developmentStrong leadership and organizational skills

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field 10 years of experience Committed to quality, improvement and HDR valuesMaintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience 
Experienced in development and management of diverse teams Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
