In this role, a typical day will include:

 

As an intermediate systems administrator/network technician, provide Tier II Network and Systems support and configuration of information/network systems equipment. This support shall include planning, configuration, operation, maintenance, instruction, and documentation related to Medium Data Rate Terminal (MDRT) baseband systems and associated equipment. Works with other systems and network professionals as required to coordinate efforts, and resolve cross-team issues and communicate changes.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Required Experience:

3+ years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

CCNA level experience requiredMCSA or MCP certification preferred, equivalent systems administration requiredDODD 8570 compliant I.E. Sec+ / CCNA Security, requiredExperience with MDRT, i-direct, or tactical SHF systemsAble to work Independently with little to no supervisionCompetent to work at a technical level on all phases of systems administration activitiesExcellent communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow throughAbility to instruct and teach others how to operate MDRTs and associated baseband equipmentAnticipates questions and is prepared with answersIntermediate understanding of Windows Server/Client administrationMust be a consummate professional in both demeanor and attireExcellent attention to detailIntermediate knowledge of SATCOM and SHF transmission systemsIntermediate understanding of networking and ability to troubleshootDetail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work
