As NASA’s largest engineering solutions provider working together with NASA at centers across the United States. We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Administrator to join the team with the Operations & Test Division. The Network Administrator will: + Will have responsibility for the Crew and Thermal Systems Division computer network which supports a variety of systems/devices including the SCADA-based data acquisition systems + Collaborate with IT team members to maintain a robust division network that supports a wide variety of labs, test chambers, and space engineering + Assist in network design and architecture for enhancing availability, resilience and reliability + Identify and configure tools for network monitoring, IP management and asset monitoring + Provide clear and timely communication to all stakeholders including network users, system engineers, IT management, NASA committees and groups, and external vendors + Terminate and install UTP and fiber optic cables + Assist in configuring and deploying network devices + Document network systems configuration by creating and maintaining detailed drawings + Provide comprehensive operation and maintenance support of network systems + Manage and track inventory of network systems within the supported division + Track and adhere to software licenses for supported systems + Conduct network problem root-cause analyses, address incidents, and implement remediation and corrective measures + Resolve and track network incidents and problems using the ServiceNow ticketing system + Conduct proactive risk assessment and implement mitigation strategies + Apply software updates and patches to ensure compliance with IT security standards + Comply with IT Security policies and implement controls for supported systems + Ensure compliance with company standards and policies + Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor and team lead **Requisition Qualifications:** This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised. + Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area + Possess a good understanding of LAN, WAN, WLAN, VLAN, and Ethernet + Full understanding of the 7-layers of the OSI model, their functions and purpose + Extensive knowledge of network device types and their use cases, including hubs, bridges, switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN concentrators + Knowledge of different media types, such as UTP, Coaxial, Fiber Optic, and knowledge + Familiarity with various network operating systems, including Cisco IOS, Juniper JunOS + Proficient in installing and configuring Windows 10/11 and TCP/IP protocol **Requisition Preferences:** + Familiarity with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures + Experience with Network management tools - SolarWinds, PRTG, + CCNA Certification **Why Join Our Team?** In addition to exciting career opportunities, we also have: + Excellent personal and professional career growth + 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), when applicable + Onsite cafeteria (breakfast & lunch) + Much, much more!
