Network Administrator
Description The Network Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance of an organization's network infrastructure. This includes managing network devices, ensuring network security, and troubleshooting network issues. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and experienced IT professional with a deep understanding of networking concepts and technologies. Responsibilities: + Design, implement, and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks (WLANs). + Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. + Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and availability. + Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs. + Manage network access control and user authentication. + Perform network capacity planning and forecasting. + Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures. + Collaborate with other IT staff to design and implement new network solutions. + Manage vendor relationships for hardware and software support. + Stay up-to-date with the latest networking technologies and security threats. + Adhere to company IT policies and procedures. + Provide technical support to end-users for network-related issues. + Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred. + Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role. + Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF). + Experience with configuring and managing network devices from various vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet). + Knowledge of network security best practices and compliance regulations. + Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools. + Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. + Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+) are highly desired. Preferred Skills: + Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible). + Knowledge of cloud networking concepts and technologies. + Familiarity with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) principles. + Experience with VoIP and other unified communications technologies. + Knowledge of network virtualization technologies.
