Job Summary:
The Network Administrator II\/Net Ops Specialist will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and management of network infrastructure at Fort Johnson. This role involves maintaining the performance, integrity, and security of the network to ensure optimal operations. The specialist will work closely with other IT professionals to resolve issues, optimize network efficiency, and ensure compliance with DOD regulations.\n

Key Responsibilities:\n\nInstall, configure, and support network hardware and software components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.\nMonitor network performance to ensure high availability and reliability.\nTroubleshoot network issues and perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.\nImplement security measures and protocols in compliance with DOD 8140 to safeguard network data and resources.\nAssist in the planning and implementation of network upgrades and expansions.\nCollaborate with IT teams to integrate new technologies and services into the existing network infrastructure.\nProvide technical support and guidance to junior network administrators and other team members.\nMaintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures.\nConduct regular network performance tests and assessments to ensure optimal functionality.\nParticipate in the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.\n\n

Qualifications:\n\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.\nExperience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration or a similar role.\nCertifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or equivalent) are required. DOD 8140 (formerly DOD 8570) certification compliance is mandatory.\nSkills:\n\nProficiency in network hardware and software.\nStrong understanding of TCP\/IP, routing protocols, and network security.\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.\nAbility to work both independently and as part of a team.\nStrong communication skills, both written and verbal.\n\n\n\n
